John Walker

English mahogany station wall clock, signed John Walker, South Molton St, LONDON, circa 1890.
Mahogany case maintained at the rear by four large wooden pins. A hinged door on the right allows for inspection, another hinged door with lock and key at the bottom allows access to the pendulum. Cast and turned bezel with flat bevelled glass and moulded mahogany outer.

Flat painted dial with Roman numerals for the hours, additional red Arabic numerals for the hours in 24-hour format, spade-style blued steel hands.

The indication B.R.(S) is for British Railways (South) and the indication 643 S.W. is for inventory and district numbers.
Single gut fusee movement with square plates united by four knopped pillars, recoil anchor escapement. Roller and steel blade suspension. Autonomy 8 days.
